The agency representing T1 top laner Choi 'Doran' Hyeon-jun has announced that it will take legal action against excessive defamation directed at the player.

Supergent, the agency representing 'Doran', made the announcement regarding legal action through its official Instagram on August 28. Supergent stated, "Recently, we have continuously identified indiscriminate slanders and personal attacks targeting player 'Doran' online," adding, "While affectionate criticism regarding match performance is something a professional player should naturally accept, malicious condemnation that insults the player's personal character and defames reputation has reached a severe level."

In response, Supergent stated that it is proceeding with legal complaint procedures at investigative agencies alongside a law firm, based on the monitoring data collected thus far to protect the signed player. Supergent conveyed, "As the player's psychological stability and protection of rights and interests are the top priority, we plan to respond resolutely against acts that infringe upon personal character moving forward."

Previously, T1 also took legal action against malicious commenters who crossed the line regarding 'Faker' Lee Sang-hyeok. Going beyond simple attention, excessive criticism, profanity, and personal attacks directed at players are crimes punishable by criminal penalties. Although not a pro gamer, an assailant who left malicious comments on Instagram against a female musical actor from 2018 to 2020 was sentenced to 2 years in prison and sentenced to prison for 2 years. Precedents also exist where fines were sentenced even when pro gamers were the victims.
