Look, let's be honest, back in July, the publisher rolled out the New World server under the rather bold slogan of 'NO packages, NO gacha,' promising a system where the time and effort you pour in actually translates into character progression. You trade items freely on the marketplace, and whatever profit you make circles right back into powering up your character. A neat little virtuous circle, in theory.

New World Season 2 launches with four servers: Pegasus, Phoenix, Aurora, and Vega. The developer is also introducing the New World Special Pass, which you can grab using silver, the in-game currency earned purely through playing.

Through attendance events, players can snag a Legendary Mount, and those who stick around playing for about a month get a shot at a Legendary Spirit. This generous handout goes out not just to New World Season 2 players, but also to those on the Global, Krabon, and New World Season 1 servers.

If you bother to register in advance for New World Season 2, the team will toss you two Shining Awakening Spirit 11-draw tickets, two Shining Awakening Mount 11-draw tickets, two Shining Weapon Appearance 11-draw tickets, two Shining Dream Stone 11-draw tickets, and one Primordial Accessory 4-Type Selection Box.

On September 7 at 8 PM, right before the update drops, the developer is hosting an online live broadcast to break down all the juicy details of New World Season 2.
