Smilegate rolled out the very first content update for its MMORPG Eclipse: The Awakening on the 16th, introducing a brand-new RvR (faction battle) mode called the High River Battlefield. Alongside the new content, the update brings the grand opening of the fresh Belzera world server and a handful of quality-of-life improvements.

The newly added High River Battlefield is a 10-minute brawl where 20 players split evenly into two rival factions. The goal is simple: rack up points by taking down enemy characters and securing kill streaks, with the first faction hitting the target score taking home the glory. Thanks to the terrain's varying elevations, you can pull off some genuinely strategic plays, and even if you bite the dust, instant respawns keep you right back in the thick of the action without any frustrating downtime.

This update also makes good on several promises made by Executive Producer Lee Sang-moon during a developer livestream held on the official YouTube channel back on the 14th. The first round of balancing focuses heavily on beefing up the survivability of melee classes like fighters and assassins, accompanied by a brand-new auto-dash feature that automatically closes the distance to targets during hunting. Plus, the overall gold drop rate has been bumped up to lift some of the heavy financial burden off players' shoulders.

The Hidden Dodoru Search hot time event is now permanently underway. Throughout the event, gold acquisition across all regions gets a neat 30 percent boost, and the Dodoru character spawns in fields at fixed times across most regions. Players can interact with these spawned characters to snag gold chests packed with a hefty amount of currency.

The new Belzera world servers are opening in waves. Three servers launched on the 16th at 8 PM, with another three slated to open at 10 AM on August 19.

Shin Jae-ik, an executive at Smilegate, noted that this first update was shaped directly by the feedback pouring in from players since launch. The executive added that the team will keep refining the service so everyone can dive into the High River Battlefield without a care in the world and genuinely feel the upgraded progression environment.
