Cygames announced on August 21st that registration is officially open for the Shadowverse Worlds Beyond official esports tournament, 'Shadowverse Korea Open 2026 Season 2' (hereinafter SKO 2026 Season 2). This tournament boasts a total prize pool of 20,000,000 KRW, with the champion taking home 10,000,000 KRW alongside a ticket to the global stage.

Anyone residing in South Korea who is at least 16 years of age as of the preliminaries date can jump into SKO 2026 Season 2. Applications are open until October 1st via the ShadowverseWB Tournament Navigator (hereinafter SVN-WB) app. Every single competitor who signs up gets a 'Shadowverse Korea Open Season 2 Original Emblem' as a nice little bonus.

As for the prize distribution, the runner-up pockets 500,000 KRW, 3rd and 4th place secure 1,400,000 KRW each, and positions 5th through 8th receive 550,000 KRW apiece. Most importantly, the ultimate winner snags the South Korean representative slot for the massive 'Shadowverse World Grand Prix 2026' in Japan, which features a staggering 100 million Yen prize pool. Other top placers will also earn entry rights to international online events like the 'Shadowverse International Wildcard Qualifier 2026'.

The tournament kicks off with online preliminaries and playoffs on October 10th, followed by the offline main finals held behind closed doors on October 18th. From the preliminaries all the way to the finals, every match uses a best-of-three (BO3) format with two decks. The preliminaries run on a Swiss-system format for up to seven rounds with an immediate two-loss elimination rule. Competitors who finish with one loss or fewer advance to the playoffs held on the exact same day.

The playoffs operate as a single-elimination bracket spanning up to two rounds, and the top eight players who survive will battle it out in the main finals to claim the crown of South Korea's absolute best. The main matches will be broadcast live via the official 'Shadowverse' YouTube channel and the official Cygames Chzzk channel.
