Good Smile Company has lifted the lid on a brand new IP involving Director Noma Takafumi, whose previous work on Unicorn Overlord captured plenty of attention. Director Takafumi is leading the development of the IP's very first title, DAWNGAZER.

Good Smile Company and Monochrome announced on August 25 the launch of a brand new IP titled IGNISPHERE. IGNISPHERE is described as a grand world tangled up with numerous nations and races, with plans to expand into games, figures, visual novels, and more based on this universe.

Among these projects, the game is being developed by IGNISPHERE Studio, a development subsidiary under Monochrome led by Director Noma Takafumi, with Good Smile Company handling publishing duties. Titled DAWNGAZER, the game comes alongside a promotional video released today, offering a glimpse at the character art and diverse races reminiscent of Unicorn Overlord.

Director Takafumi, who is steering the development of this title, previously worked as a programmer on numerous hit games and took the helm as director for Unicorn Overlord, steering everything from scenario writing to character design. Director Takafumi aims to establish a unified and deeply immersive world that simply cannot be achieved through traditional division of labor.

DAWNGAZER, the inaugural game based on IGNISPHERE, is slated for release in 2028 on PC (Steam), PS5, and Nintendo Switch 2. Following the game's launch, Good Smile Company plans to roll out merchandise including figures, while Kadokawa will release a light novel series.
