NC has kicked off pre-registrations for the Aion 'Drakan' update.

The update is scheduled to drop on October 21. For the very first time in Aion, the playable draconian race 'Drakan' makes an entrance. The character switches between human and draconian forms during combat, consuming a resource called 'Rage' that builds up when attacking foes to execute the transformation. The human form deploys magic attacks utilising an orb, while the draconian form overwhelms multiple enemies with powerful area-of-effect strikes.

Alongside the update, a second world named 'Drakan', built upon the Aion remake, will open its doors. Launched back in May, the Aion remake was a massive overhaul built around the concept of 're-creating Aion'. It features the introduction of an auto-hunt system, a complete revamp of all classes, combat featuring wings, and major system overhauls for inventory and crafting.

The Drakan world is packed with content tailored to help new and returning players level up. Depending on the progression stage, players will receive weapons, armour, and accessories. Early hunting grounds have been redesigned from scratch, and safe zones have been set up so players can focus entirely on hunting without faction-vs-faction skirmishes. Various events are lined up as well.

Pre-registrations for the Drakan update remain open via the official Aion website until 11:59 PM on the 20th. Every participant will walk away with a 'Cloak' as a reward. The cloak is a brand-new piece of equipment that aids character survival and growth as its tier increases. Essential hunting consumables, such as health recovery potions, are thrown into the mix too.
