Digital Extremes announced on the 16th that the massive in-game community event "Operation: The Tauros" has officially kicked off for Warframe players across all platforms. This event serves as a special stepping stone, bringing together generations of Warframe players to gear up for the journey toward the upcoming release of "Warframe: 1999" later this year. Both rookies and veteran players can dive into various activities until November 18 (Korean time) to bag event rewards and gather essential resources for the upcoming voyage into a brand-new star system.

Operation: The Tauros is split into two main pillars: a global community milestone that requires the combined efforts of players worldwide, and a fresh story prologue quest. By wrapping up the tutorial quest "Vor's Prize," players can take part in a historic moment for Warframe, racing against the clock until November 17 to hit the targets demanded by Pragasa. The global Warframe community will join forces to pave the way toward the Tau system and drive the overarching narrative forward together.

Players can hunt down the new resource "Flesh-Moon" on Eris or via rotating alert missions and deliver it straight to Pragasa. Doing so unlocks a buffet of event goodies, including the "Contegorus Armor Set," the "Basis Amp Weapon Skin," the "Kadati Sundali Ship Decoration," and the "Dampyr Syandana." Every day past 7 PM Eastern Time, Pragasa will beam out a transmission containing the first-ever spoken words directly from Pragasa, while an in-game event tracker lets everyone keep tabs on how close the global community is to smashing the joint goal.

For those who have already conquered the story quests "The Old Peace" and "The Hex," a brand-new prologue quest titled "Prelude to Tauros" awaits. In this quest, for the absolute first time in Warframe history, players get to step directly into the shoes of Lotus and retrace her memories. It hands out the very first assignment to awaken the vessel and scoop up resources vital for the trek to the Tau system. Rest assured, "Prelude to Tauros" will remain permanently embedded in the Warframe Quest Codex even after the event wraps up, regardless of whether it is unlocked during the event window.

On top of that, players can throw themselves into the recently introduced, experimental six-player co-op game mode, "Bonds of Ice." Here, squads of six can be cobbled together by recruiting five fellow operators at the Yuvan Ridge, keeping in mind that each squad member must pilot a completely different type of Warframe. Once every squadmate tosses in an "Ice-Spirits" key, a democratic vote decides the random modifier twisting the rules of the mission. Teammates must coordinate their tactics across four distinct stages to conquer the mission, after which they can pick one reward from dozens stocked in Cephalon Melica's Glacial Laboratory.
