Nexon announced on the 16th that it has rolled out a major update celebrating the 10th anniversary of MapleStory M. This patch introduces brand-new skills and regions, hot on the heels of the game hitting its official decade milestone on the 13th. If that is not enough to keep you busy, an offline community event is also scheduled for tomorrow, the 17th.

The update brings the brand-new Hexa skill core, the Ascent skill. Following hot on the heels of Origin skills, Ascent acts as a massive area-of-effect attack that can be unleashed up to three times without a cooldown during boss encounters. Better yet, the skill grants you temporary invincibility while active, giving your survivability a rather lovely little boost.

Over in the Grandis continent, a fresh region called Arteria has dropped. Set against the backdrop of the massive flagship belonging to the apostle Reina, who has dared to invade the Maple World, this zone requires characters to be at least level 282 to step foot inside. Clear every single quest in Arteria, and you will walk away with the Authentic Symbol: Arteria.

Alongside the update, a global co-op event titled 'Dispatch! Urs Subjugation Team' runs until November 11. Players across all worlds can team up to take down the boss Urs. Characters level 100 and above can jump into the fray using entry tickets tied to their account. Once the entire community hits the designated world goals, everyone who participated gets rewarded with goodies like 10th anniversary coins.

You can also stack up those 10th anniversary coins through side activities such as the 'Dress Up Mister Kim' event. These hard-earned coins can be traded in at the 10th anniversary shop for hefty items like the Legendary Growth Potion and a Star Force +1 Star 100% Enhancement Scroll (levels 1 to 30). Meanwhile, Aru's Anniversary Shop and Eru's Anniversary Shop are stocked with items such as Therion, Eternal Rebirth Flames, and Transfer Scrolls.

To wrap things up, Nexon is hosting an offline shindig dubbed 'MAPLEM CELEBRAT10N DAY' on October 17 at the Maple Agit located in Gangnam, Seoul, to celebrate a decade of MapleStory M. This gathering is strictly for pre-booked players, featuring a quiz show, a boss time attack, and plenty of other cheeky activities to keep everyone entertained.
