Kakao Games held an eco-friendly programme titled "Dagachi Green Day – Family trip for Han River otter conservation" with the families of employees at the Jungnangcheon Environment Center located in Nowon-gu, Seoul, on October 18.

This event is part of "Dagachi Green Day", an employee-participatory eco-friendly campaign that Kakao Games has been running since 2022. It was organised to raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity conservation and contribute to protecting the habitats of endangered otters.

Following last year's "Black-faced Spoonbill conservation trip", this year's event was also conducted in a format where employees and their families participated together. Key executives, including newly appointed CEO Kim Tae-hwan, along with employees and their children, took part in educational and volunteer activities to lend a hand in protecting otter habitats.

Considering the various ages of the employees' children participating in the volunteer work, the programme was designed with activities to boost interest in otter protection. Around 30 employees and family members who joined the event took part in environmental education related to otters and the Han River ecosystem conducted by experts from WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) and the Jungnangcheon Environment Center, learning about the importance of biodiversity conservation. Following that, they made seed balls using purple loosestrife and reed seeds to help the seeds take root well in the soil and engaged in a hands-on activity of painting mood lights with an otter theme.

Cho Jung-yeon, head of the ESG/Value Enhancement division at Kakao Games, stated, "It is meaningful that employees and their families could reflect together on the value of biodiversity conservation through a hands-on programme combining environmental education and volunteer work," adding, "We will continue to strengthen our ESG management by rolling out various eco-friendly campaigns, including unique experiential activities."

Meanwhile, Kakao Games has been running user-participatory game-linked donation events for biodiversity conservation since 2023. The company has continued donation activities for the habitat conservation of various creatures, such as polar bears in 2023, bees in 2024, and black-faced spoonbills in 2025, and this year ran a donation event themed around otters, delivering 30 million won in donations to WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature).
