As expected, since they fill magical and universal roles respectively, the pick rates for magic and defense decks have shot up significantly. Magic decks clearly benefited the most from this. Shinobu Kocho selected as a core member of the magic deck

While the first wave of Demon Slayer heroes supported offensive decks, the second batch threw their weight behind magic and defense builds. Shinobu Kocho and Giyu Tomioka forced their way straight into the main PvP rosters the moment they dropped. Out of the two, Shinobu made a far bigger splash, instantly securing a 70% pick rate and tying for second place alongside Yoon-geon and Dong-yeong. Naturally, they slotted right in beside the undisputed number one, Ha-yeon, forming a formidable magic core.

As magic decks caught a strong tailwind, offensive deck pick rates dipped once again, though one particular attack-type hero made a surprising resurgence: Seon-ran. Unlike other offensive heroes showing declining metrics, Seon-ran piled up 24 percentage points to grab fifth place. It is almost as if the once-trendy 'Seon-ran magic deck' has risen from the ashes. Put simply, the entire top five spots on the chart currently belong to magic deck setups.

Amidst this heavy magic dominance, defense deck numbers ticked up slightly as well. Giyu Tomioka, who arrived alongside Shinobu, posted a 17.3% pick rate to tie for eighth place with Gelidus. Thanks to this, the overall defensive bulk of the formation increased, allowing for much more aggressive combinations. Right now, players seem to be leaning on Eileen to create chaotic variables through shock effects.

Offensive Formation and Zeo cement their number one spots

With Seon-ran returning to the magic fold, the pick rate for the offensive formation surged dramatically. The prevailing trend is to stick Seon-ran in the front-row tank slot, essentially running her as a bruiser. The fact that offensive deck numbers shrank also created a prime environment to secure the 'advantage' mechanic. Given their towering base attack stats, most non-mirror matches kicked off with our side holding the upper hand. Naturally, Zeo—the pet boasting the highest attack boost—maintaining first place was practically written in the stars.

The resulting best pick for this week is the magic deck featuring both Shinobu Kocho and Seon-ran. Yoon-geon still holds the reins as the party's primary firepower source, while Ha-yeon and Dong-yeong retain their usual positions. The core strategy now relies on Shinobu choking out the enemy team with deadly poison while Seon-ran forces the opposition to miss their attacks. Consequently, the old high-speed setup meant to vomit out pre-booked skills right at the start of battle has faded away, replaced by thoroughly rounded, substance-driven builds.

High-tier PvP Defense Team Pick Rate Analysis

Just like the standard PvP arenas we looked at earlier, high-tier PvP is utterly dominated by magic decks—proving once again how quickly the upper echelon adapts to meta shifts. Shinobu found an immediate home here too, boasting a staggering 92% pick rate within magic compositions. Furthermore, 50% of top-tier magic rankers are fielding Seon-ran alongside her.

Naturally, the rise of magic spelled doom for defense and offense decks, each bleeding 10 and 27 percentage points respectively and widening the gap significantly. Defense deck enthusiasts probably feel hard done by this; despite enthusiastically deploying the new hero Giyu, catching up to the magic juggernaut proved a bridge too far. That said, plenty of schedule remains in the current season, so we will have to keep an eye on whether defense and offensive setups can engineer a turnaround before time runs out.

Real-time PvP Analysis Room

Real-time PvP, where players dictate skill usage manually, tends to move rather sluggishly when the meta shifts. A prime example is the magic setup run by Mannam mentioned above. They actively utilize 'Juri', a face largely unfamiliar to standard arena regulars. Because the combat environment differs so drastically, new heroes tend to suffer a delayed deployment here. Even so, Shinobu slipped straight into the magic lineup without missing a beat, replacing Skuld to drive a much more aggressive playstyle.

Offensive decks saw roster shake-ups of their own. 'Karma Heron' has made a comeback, replacing Kamado Tanjirou. We spotted several replays where offensive players dusted off their attack decks to secure wins against increasingly terrifying magic formations. Naturally, we dove into Mannam's offensive replays to see what kind of gamble paid off.

As hinted by the inclusion of Karma Heron, this setup relies on a crowd-control heavy build affectionately dubbed the 'CC offensive deck'. It leans heavily into shock afflictions: Zenitsu Agatsuma, Eileen, and Karma Heron all double down on shock as their primary trick. Couple that with Ha-yeon handling paralysis and the 'spirit-binding gourd' extending enemy turn-based debuffs, and you have got a recipe for double-locked opponent movement. Most matches do not even require Ha-yeon to step up actively, as Seon-ran's AoE damage, multi-hit counts, and raw shock pressure simply steamroll the opposition.

The opening play revolves around Eileen's wide-area shock. From there, whenever Eileen bites the dust, her passive triggers 'Thunderbolt True', endlessly dishing out shocks until the enemy runs out of survival tools or enters immortality states, leaving Zenitsu to clean house one by one. If both Zenitsu and Eileen somehow go down, Karma Heron steps in to finish the job as the last survivor with decent staying power. Replays show that even when Zenitsu suffered an execution, Karma Heron stepped up to apply the final shocks and seal the deal. Keep in mind that while finishers may vary depending on the situation, Zenitsu remains the top dog thanks to execution abilities.
