Crimson Desert's first DLC, Journey into the Unknown, has surged to the very top of Steam's global top-selling games chart just a day before its launch, following a single delay from its original October 16 release date.

Journey into the Unknown expands the field of action from inland areas out to the open ocean and underwater. Players can directly pilot ships to pioneer seas and new islands, or dive beneath the waves to explore underwater ruins and treasures. Furthermore, individual follow-up narratives unfold for the three main protagonists—Cliff, Demian, and Unka—alongside a massive influx of lifestyle content such as a management system to lease and operate commercial and production facilities within the continent, a detailed housing system, and dating and marriage with local residents.

Pearl Abyss revealed the release date for Journey into the Unknown in early September and kicked off pre-orders. However, the developer delayed the launch once in late September to ensure higher quality and a stable gameplay experience. Pushing the schedule back by about two weeks, it is set to launch on October 30 at 7:00 AM Korean time. On the day of release, an update for the base game will also be deployed to run the expansion and apply the new systems.

Meanwhile, the base game Crimson Desert has been nominated for the Ultimate Game of the Year category at the Golden Joystick Awards 2026, and is included among the 12 nominees for the main prizes at the 2026 Korea Game Awards, which will be held on November 18.

Elsewhere, Phantom Blade Zero continues to hold the number one spot following its official launch. Initial user reviews are sitting at 'Mostly Positive', with some players voicing disappointment regarding optimisation and overall polish. A new cyberpunk shop management title, 'Probably Stolen - Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim', launched on the 28th and claimed the number 3 spot with a 'Very Positive' user rating, drawing considerable attention.

In the peak concurrent players top 20, Phantom Blade Zero surpassed 430,000 players, proving its status as a highly anticipated title by dominating the concurrent player charts alongside its sales performance. Dota 2 dropped to 707,688 players, suffering a decline of roughly 300,000 compared to the previous day and handing the second-place spot over to PUBG.
