KeSPA President Kim Young-man has officially begun his term as Vice President for the East Asian region, following the 5th AESF (Asian Electronic Sports Federation) Executive Committee meeting held in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 30.

The AESF is the only international esports organization in Asia recognized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). President Kim Young-man was elected as Vice President for the East Asian region during the AESF General Assembly on April 5, with a four-year term running until 2029.

During this inaugural official engagement, President Kim Young-man held discussions with the new leadership, including President Santi Rothong and Secretary-General Kim Tae-hyung. President Kim Young-man emphasized the necessity of standardizing practices across Asia by sharing insights on Korea's institutional management of esports titles, fairness committees, safeguarding, and the selection and operation of national teams. Furthermore, he expressed a commitment to expanding cooperation with other vice-presidential and board-member nations to promote domestic game titles.

As Vice President for the East Asian region, President Kim Young-man will actively facilitate regional esports exchanges and serve as a professional advisor for major international events where esports is an official medal event, such as the Asian Games, the Southeast Asian Games, and the Asian Youth Games.

President Kim Young-man remarked, "At a time when the sustainable growth of esports is being actively discussed, I feel both delighted and a heavy sense of responsibility in taking on this role as AESF Vice President for East Asia. I intend to work toward the industrial advancement of the Asian region, which hosts the most sophisticated esports ecosystem in the world, while establishing Korea's advanced operational models as a regional standard and engaging in diplomacy to resolve domestic issues, such as the promotion of Korean-made titles."

Currently, President Kim Young-man serves as the 12th President of KeSPA, having also held the position for the 1st, 2nd, and 11th terms. He continues to be active on the international stage, having served as Global Vice President of the International Esports Federation (IESF) since 2024, Head of the Korean National Esports Team for the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023, and a founding member of the Korea-China-Japan Esports Competition (ECEA) Organizing Committee from 2021 to 2022.
