Rockstar Games, currently focusing its efforts on the development of GTA 6, has reportedly begun development on Red Dead Redemption 3.

The overseas outlet Tech4Gamers reported on the 8th (local time) that it had confirmed the news through an anonymous source at Rockstar Games. According to the report, while Rockstar Games is currently concentrating all its resources on GTA 6, early-stage development for Red Dead Redemption 3 is already underway.

Red Dead Redemption is an open-world game series set in the American frontier. In particular, the second installment, Red Dead Redemption 2, is frequently cited as one of the greatest games of all time due to its exceptional story, vast and beautiful open world, and meticulous detail. With the first game released in 2010 and the second in 2018, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of a third entry.

Considering the current situation at Rockstar Games and the details of the report, it is highly likely that Red Dead Redemption 3 is still in the early conceptual phase. Full-scale development is expected to begin only after the release of GTA 6 next autumn, and the launch is projected to be no earlier than 2028.
