NEXON has officially confirmed that football legends Thierry Henry and Rio Ferdinand will be taking to the pitch for the '2025 Icon Match', a star-studded exhibition event hosted by the publisher.

The Icon Match is a unique spectacle where legendary players face off under the themes of 'Spear' and 'Shield'. This year, the event has been structured as a grudge match, with the Spear team (FC Spear)—having tasted defeat last time—eager to settle the score.

Returning to the fray are Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba, who featured as an attacker for FC Spear last year, and the iconic Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. Joining them are the clinical French forward Thierry Henry and the stalwart English defender Rio Ferdinand.

On the 16th, NEXON dropped a video on the official FC Online YouTube channel featuring Henry and Ferdinand using ChatGPT to forecast the outcome of the 2025 Icon Match. The AI didn't just tip the scales in favour of FC Spear; it even went as far as predicting the final score.
