KeSPA (Korea e-Sports Association) announced on the 5th that the 16 regional representatives from across the country have been finalised to compete in the national finals of the 17th Presidential Amateur eSports Tournament.

The Presidential Amateur eSports Tournament (KeG) aims to foster balanced regional growth and expand the grassroots amateur scene. It is the only national-level amateur eSports event backed by the government, holding its ground for 19 years. The event is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, managed by KeSPA and Jecheon City, and supported by a list of partners including Chungcheongbuk-do, Korea Creative Content Agency, Korean Sport & Olympic Committee, KSPO, Riot Games, Nexon Korea, Nimble Neuron, Supercell, SK Telecom, Sidiz, and Goal Studio.

Regional qualifiers to determine the finalists kicked off in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province on Friday, July 18th. Across 16 cities and provinces, a total of 1,748 hopefuls took part, marking a turnout roughly double that of last year.

The regional lineup consists of one team for League of Legends (5 players), two players for FC Online, one team for Eternal Return (3-4 players), and one team for Brawl Stars (3 players). Notably, for the Eternal Return event, regions that host a professional team currently competing in the Korea e-Sports League (KEL) bypass qualifiers, with the local team automatically securing a spot in the national finals.

Street Fighter 6, which remains a strategic title for the second consecutive year, will hold its online qualifiers on Saturday, August 9th at 7:00 PM, with the top 8 players advancing to the national finals.

The grand national finals, following those intense regional bouts, will take place at the Jecheon Gymnasium in North Chungcheong Province over two days, on Saturday the 16th and Sunday the 17th. All 16 regions will compete for glory. The overall winning region will be awarded the Presidential Trophy, while winners of individual official events will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award. Furthermore, top-tier finishers in FC Online will earn a seed for the 2025 FC ONLINE FUTURES LEAGUE (FFL) SUMMER season.
