Krafton announced on the 26th that the domestic professional 'PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS' esports circuit, the '2025 PUBG WEEKLY SERIES (PWS) Phase 2', is officially kicking off.

This 2025 PWS Phase 2 represents the latter half of the season, where teams must navigate the Weekly Stage and Last Chance qualifiers before battling it out in the Finals to crown a champion.

The Weekly Stage runs online from August 26 to September 20, taking place every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday with six matches per day over a 12-day stretch. A total of 24 teams—comprised of 16 pro squads and 8 teams recruited via amateur qualifiers held each Monday—will participate, with the lineup subject to change based on qualifier results.

Points for the 'PUBG Global Championship (PGC)' are awarded based on match rankings, weekly winners, and top kill-leading squads. Once the stage concludes, the top 15 teams in PGC points secure a direct ticket to the Finals, while the remaining 16 teams are relegated to the Last Chance stage to fight for the final remaining spots.

The Last Chance stage is a single-day online event on September 23. It utilizes a 'first to reach 40 points' format; once a team hits that threshold and wins a match, the event concludes and that team advances to the Finals.

The Finals will be held at the DN Colosseum in Jamsil, Seoul, on September 27 and 28, with a live audience in attendance. The 16 finalists will play 12 matches over two days to accumulate additional PGC points, with bonuses for the highest kill counts or 'chicken dinners' earned throughout the tournament. The team with the highest combined points from the Weekly Stage and the Finals will be declared the champion.

The top three teams in the tournament rankings will earn spots for the 'PUBG Global Series (PGS) 9 & 10' international events, and the teams with the highest annual cumulative points will ultimately advance to the 'PGC 2025' year-end tournament.

The total prize pool is 105 million KRW, with 10 million KRW reserved for the champion. In the Weekly Stage, daily winners receive 3 million KRW, and individual match winners receive 500,000 KRW. During the Finals, match winners receive 1 million KRW, and the MVP is awarded a 1 million KRW individual prize.
