Hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), and supported by the Korea Tourism Organization, the Game Culture Festival 2025 is set to take place from September 5th to 14th at the HiKR Ground in Gwanghwamun, Seoul.

The event has been curated as an immersive, participatory festival designed to highlight the cultural significance of gaming, inviting everyone to connect and engage through the medium. The programme includes domestic and international game demos, mission-based challenges, e-sports tournaments, and exhibitions featuring game music and art.

A host of prominent developers will be showcasing their flagship titles, including Neowiz and Hidea’s 'Cats & Soup', Nexon’s 'Mabinogi Mobile', Netmarble’s 'RF Online Next', Nimble Neuron’s 'Eternal Return', Blizzard’s 'Overwatch 2', Smilegate’s 'Lost Ark' and 'Clair Obscur: Expedition 33', Shift Up’s 'Stellar Blade', and Krafton’s 'inZOI'. Visitors can explore dedicated zones on the second and third floors that reflect the worlds of these titles. Additionally, award-winning indie games from the first half of 2025, such as 'Ratopia', 'Snow Bros. 2 Special', and 'Hug Me Animal Mansion', will also be on display.

At the Art Ground, the event will feature concept art from major studios. Nexon, Smilegate, Shift Up, and Krafton are participating with artwork from 12 different games. Furthermore, the venue will host a game OST listening lounge, an AR hologram photo zone where fans can pose with 3D character models, and a cosplay experience area. Don't miss the game OST performance scheduled for Saturday, September 6th, at 5 PM on the outdoor stage of the HiKR Ground.

The GCF E-sports League finals will also be held from September 13th to 14th at the CKL Stage in Gwanghwamun. The tournament will feature 'Eternal Return', a regional-based e-sports title launched this year to promote balanced development and expand the reach of e-sports alongside 'League of Legends'. The matches will be broadcast live via the official YouTube channel and SOOP. The festival also includes a 'Brawl Stars' event match for families participating in the Game Culture Family Camp, 'Hotami' mission games based on webtoon stories, and a variety of board, PC, and arcade game exhibits.

Yoo Hyun-seok, the acting president of KOCCA, stated, "We hope this festival will spread the cultural and artistic value of gaming to foster a healthy gaming culture and stimulate the industry." Yoo added, "As it is being held at HiKR Ground, a new cultural landmark, we trust it will showcase the excellence and creativity of K-games to domestic and international tourists, further contributing to the growth of K-content tourism."
