The latest iteration in 2K's basketball simulation series, NBA 2K26, officially launched on the 5th for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

This new title features enhanced gameplay, full integration of WNBA players into MyTEAM, the addition of the 'Crew' system and new features in The City, and a fresh MyCAREER narrative to expand the content.

The developer utilized machine learning via the 'ProPLAY motion engine' to capture player movement. Offensive techniques have also been improved, featuring refined Rhythm Shooting, signature post shots, and slow-motion Eurosteps.

In MyCAREER mode, players start as a small-town prospect and progress through high school, club leagues, and the NBA Draft in the 'Out of Bounds' storyline. The City mode sees the return of the classic park system, with environments that shift each season to enhance community and competition. The 'Crew' feature allows players to form their own teams and compete.

MyTEAM now features full integration of WNBA player cards, including WNBA Domination tiers, exclusive uniforms, and courts. Updates also include new cards, 10-player 5v5 co-op matches, and the nocturnal 2v2 courts in Triple Threat Park.

The MyPLAYER Builder has been improved with features such as a glossary for build-specific animations, badge-based build functions, and updated scouting reports. MyNBA mode adds 30 offseason scenarios and new elements like championship banners.

Visual Concepts President Greg Thomas stated, "NBA 2K26 offers a variety of new features and improvements based on fast and natural gameplay," adding that "the ProPLAY motion engine, the MyCAREER storyline, the addition of WNBA players to MyTEAM, and the 'Crew' feature in The City are all designed to provide new challenges for players."
