SEGA Publishing Korea announced that a free update for the Aniplex-produced 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2' will arrive this Thursday, the 18th, adding 'Muzan Kibutsuji' to the Versus mode. The title originally launched last August across PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

For the uninitiated, 'Demon Slayer' is based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, a series that has shifted over 220 million copies. The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is slaughtered by demons, as he joins the 'Demon Slayer Corps' to turn his sister Nezuko back into a human. It is a tale of humans and demons that has recently recaptured the zeitgeist with 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Chapter 1'.

The free update bringing the progenitor of all demons, 'Muzan Kibutsuji', to the Versus mode drops this Thursday, the 18th. Muzan acts as the king of the demonic forces and the ultimate leader of the elite 'Twelve Kizuki'.

Details regarding characters arriving via the paid 'Infinity Castle Chapter 1 Character Pass' have also surfaced. This pass includes versions of Tanjiro Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Giyu Tomioka, Shinobu Kocho, and Akaza from the Infinity Castle arc, alongside original additions Doma and Kaigaku, totaling seven playable characters.
