NCSoft has a new title surfacing through the Game Rating and Administration Committee’s website. It is, quite unsurprisingly, another attempt to leverage the Lineage IP, this time in the form of a defense game.

Rated for all ages on the 19th, the game is titled 'SIEGE SQUAD'. It borrows the lore of Lineage, tasking players with summoning units to fend off enemy waves and clear stages. Given its 'all ages' rating across criteria such as sexual content, violence, and gambling, it is safe to assume that features like a real-money marketplace will be absent.

The description mentions 'defending against enemy attacks and succeeding in siege warfare.' Technically, this is a bit of a linguistic fumble; 'siege' implies attacking a castle, whereas the defensive side should be 'defending.' However, since 'siege warfare' is synonymous with the Lineage brand, it seems the developers used the term purely for its iconic status rather than mechanical accuracy.

NCSoft clarified regarding 'SIEGE SQUAD' that "it is not a release for external app stores, but rather a free mini-game provided via NC PURPLE Lounge."
