Nexon has officially opened the 'Jeonnam-region Nexon Public Children's Rehabilitation Medical Center' on the 3rd, a project bolstered by a 5 billion won donation pledge from the Nexon Foundation.

This center marks a significant milestone as the first public facility of its kind in the Jeonnam region. Located at Teotgol-ro, Mokpo-si, Jeollanam-do, the facility spans one basement level and three floors above ground, covering an area of 1667.35㎡.

The center is well-equipped with 20 beds, specialized rehabilitation rooms, and 170 pieces of cutting-edge equipment spanning 104 different types. It provides essential services such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy for children with disabilities, alongside educational and integrated programs designed to help them regain daily functioning and adapt to social environments.

Beyond the initial funding, Nexon took a hands-on approach to the environment. Nexonspace, the subsidiary responsible for the company's spatial asset management, stepped in to design the interior spaces for patients and their families, as well as the overall aesthetic of the facility—including the hospital logo and various signage.

The opening ceremony saw a gathering of key figures, including Nexon Foundation Chairman Kim Jung-wook, NXC CEO Lee Jae-kyo, Nexonspace CEO Ji Joon-sook, Jeollanam-do Health and Welfare Bureau Director Jung Gwang-seon, Mokpo City Vice Mayor Jo Seok-hoon, Mokpo Central Hospital Chairman Lee Seung-taek, Hospital Director Lee Jung-hee, and Center Director Jung Gwang-ik.

Nexon Foundation Chairman Kim Jung-wook remarked, "We hope this center serves as a vital starting point for providing essential medical services to children with disabilities and their families in the region. We remain committed to supporting healthcare initiatives for the bright future of children and youth across various regions."

Center Director Jung Gwang-ik added, "It is deeply meaningful that children with disabilities and their families can now receive stable and professional care. We will strive to make this a place that offers hope and practical support, providing top-tier rehabilitation services in partnership with the local community."

Nexon and the Nexon Foundation's track record in this space is substantial; since donating to the 'Purme Foundation Nexon Children's Rehabilitation Hospital' in 2013—the first of its kind in Korea—they have continued to support the Daejeon-Sejong-Chungnam Nexon-sponsored Public Children's Rehabilitation Hospital and this new Jeonnam-region center. They are also currently funding the expansion of public children's rehabilitation facilities at Changwon Gyeongsang National University Hospital.
