Path of Exile 2 has announced that its next major 0.4.0 patch is scheduled for early December. With this update, the arrival of the new class 'Druid', which was not included in the previous update, is considered highly likely.

The Druid is one of the five remaining classes yet to be unveiled from the developer's target of 12 total classes. It was originally scheduled to be released in the last patch but was delayed due to the need for additional work on beast transformation animations. As the game has only recently begun to gain momentum, the general consensus is that a highly polished Druid class must be introduced in this 0.4.0 patch to maintain this growth.

Meanwhile, the 'Rise of the Abyssal League', currently in its third month, is expected to end in December, following the promised four-month cycle. Once the league concludes, all characters and items acquired will be migrated to the 'Standard' or 'Hardcore Early Access League'. There is no 'wipe' process where character and item information is deleted or reset; everything is migrated. Once the migration is complete, players can continue playing their characters in the Standard or Hardcore Early Access leagues.

The Druid is expected to showcase a unique concept that differentiates it from existing classes. It uses Strength and Intelligence as its primary stats and utilizes various skills through transformations between human form and beast form. Players can employ strategies based on the sequence of skill usage, such as casting general spells in human form and then transforming into a bear to perform melee attacks. In particular, the 'Dual Specialization' system allows players to set one weapon set optimized for human-form spells and another for powerful melee attacks in beast form, which is expected to enable efficient build construction.
