Steam, firmly established as the world's premier PC gaming hub, is back with its annual Steam Awards. The beauty of this event is that it is driven entirely by you, the players, who nominate the candidates across 11 distinct categories, including the coveted Game of the Year.

Valve began opening the floor for 2025 Steam Awards nominations on November 25th via the official Steam website. You can cast your votes for titles that defined the year across categories such as Game of the Year, VR Game of the Year, Best on Steam Deck, Outstanding Visual Style, Most Innovative Gameplay, Best Soundtrack, and the ever-popular Labor of Love, alongside categories for games with deep narratives.

Beyond those, the nominations extend to categories like 'Labor of Love' for games with long-term support, 'Best Game You Suck At' for those exquisitely crafted yet punishingly difficult titles, 'Better With Friends' for the best social experiences, and 'Relaxing Game' for those experiences that are easy for anyone to enjoy.

Every Steam user can participate until 3:00 AM on December 2nd via the Steam official page. You can nominate games you have personally played, or browse through the suggested lists of popular and recommended titles. If you nominate at least one title, you will snag a badge; you can level up that badge by filling out all 11 categories, playing the games you nominated, or penning a review.

The final voting phase to crown the winners kicks off on December 18th, with the results set to be unveiled on January 3rd at 3:00 AM (Korea Standard Time). For a bit of perspective, last year’s awards saw 'Black Myth: Wukong' walk away with three trophies, including the top prize, with other notable mentions like 'Elden Ring', 'Liar's Bar', 'Helldivers 2', and 'Farming Simulator 25' making their mark.
