On the 27th, Netmarble announced the results of its internal investigation into a data leak that compromised customer and employee information across its PC gaming portals, including services for traditional games like Baduk and Janggi.

The scale of the personal data leak from its PC game portal sites has been confirmed at approximately 6.11 million users, including dormant accounts. The leaked information includes names, dates of birth, and encrypted passwords. It has been confirmed that no sensitive information, such as Resident Registration Numbers, was leaked.

Additionally, it was found that approximately 31 million IDs and encrypted passwords, which remained in a dormant state with personal information like names and dates of birth already deleted, were also leaked. It appears these IDs were generated by users creating up to five accounts each on the PC portal site.

Along with this, it was provisionally estimated that the names, IDs, and email addresses of approximately 66,000 PC bang owners from before 2015, as well as about 17,000 records of current and former employees including names, dates of birth, and company email addresses, were leaked.

Netmarble stated that it disclosed the specific scale of the breach to minimize confusion among customers and to ensure transparency in information disclosure.

A Netmarble representative stated, "We sincerely apologize for the leak of personal information caused by this hacking incident. We are doing our best to ensure that our customers do not suffer any actual harm, and we promise to cooperate fully with the investigations by relevant authorities. Furthermore, we will conduct a comprehensive inspection of our entire system and do our utmost to establish measures to prevent recurrence."
