The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST), alongside the Korea Creative Content Agency, is set to host the '2025 Korea Content Awards' at COEX on December 10th. The ceremony will honour 24 industry figures and 15 outstanding works that have significantly bolstered the nation's content sector this year with government citations and awards.

Celebrating its 1st iteration, this ceremony serves as a platform to recognise those who have propelled domestic content to global fame and showcased the excellence of our culture, awarding government commendations and medals to the brightest stars in the industry.

This year, the government has expanded its recognition. Beyond the established categories of ▲Achievement in Overseas Expansion, ▲Achievement in Broadcasting and Video Industry, and ▲Achievement in Game Industry, they have introduced a new ▲Achievement in Content Industry development category, bringing the total to 24 awardees across four sectors. Furthermore, 15 works will be celebrated across the ▲Comics, ▲Animation, and ▲Character sectors.

The Order of Cultural Merit will be awarded to Director Maggie Kang, whose Netflix project 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' has had a profound impact on the development of Korean culture and its related industries. Meanwhile, Director Kim Won-seok of Baram Pictures, known for 'You Have Done Well', and writer Park Ji-eun, the pen behind 'Queen of Tears', will receive the Cultural Merit.

The gaming industry also saw a significant showing among the winners. Kim Hyung-jun, CEO of inZOI Studio, secured the Prime Minister's Commendation for Overseas Expansion. His work on 'inZOI' saw the title reach the top of the global Steam charts, effectively widening the horizon for Korean gaming.

In the category of Achievement in Game Industry, Shift Up CEO Kim Hyung-tae and Nexon Korea Vice President Park Jung-moo will receive Presidential Commendations. CEO Kim has been instrumental in leading domestic and international development with successful proprietary IPs such as 'Destiny Child' and 'Stellar Blade'.

Vice President Park Jung-moo has been recognised for his efforts in building the FC Online e-sports ecosystem, managing grassroots and fan-participation programmes based on real football, and spearheading global collaborations, all of which have significantly boosted the global competitiveness of the game industry and its IP.

Finally, in the Achievement in Content Industry category, Neowiz New Game Development Group Leader Park Sung-jun will receive the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Commendation. Park's work on 'Lies of P' surpassed 7 million players worldwide and secured three wins at Gamescom, one of the world's top three game shows, providing a massive boost to the domestic console gaming sector.

Several other industry stalwarts were also honoured. In the overseas expansion sector, Pan Entertainment CEO Park Young-seok and Studio Slam CEO Yoon Hyun-joon were recognised, while writer Mo Eun-seol of the Korea TV & Radio Writers Association received a Presidential Commendation for her contributions to the broadcasting and video industry.

Minister Choi Hwi-young remarked, "The world's interest in K-Culture and K-Content is at an all-time high. This achievement is a direct result of the hard work from everyone in the industry, especially our winners and the creators of these stellar works. I offer my heartfelt congratulations." He added, "The Ministry will spare no support to ensure our content industry continues its global leap. I hope our winners take pride in being at the vanguard of K-Culture and continue their stellar efforts."
