Webzen announced on the 19th that Dragon Sword will receive its first update since launch. This update introduces a new hero, the Saint of Dawn Onet, alongside new regions and an expanded main story.

First, the new character Onet, the Saint of Dawn from the Organa Order, wields a powerful scythe, contrasting with her pristine appearance. She serves as a damage dealer capable of inflicting shock and knock-down status effects, allowing for powerful synergy with existing lightning-attribute characters. Alongside the new hero, her exclusive Karma is released, and players can enjoy a dedicated hero quest that tells her unique story.

Additionally, two new regions, the Mist Veil Highlands and the Sky Ridge Foothills, have been added to the east of the world map. With this expansion, three new scenario dungeons and two resource dungeons are included, and players can challenge the world boss, the Dark Necromancer Hagen. The main story has been expanded from five chapters to eight. Two new subjugation contents have been added, and a 'Hard' difficulty level is now available for the co-op 'Raid' content.

The hero summoning monetization overhaul, teased in the developer notes on the 6th, has also been implemented. This lowers the pity threshold for top-tier characters and Karma, and the same criteria apply to the beginner pick-up banners for new players. Quality-of-life improvements based on user feedback include the addition of eight shortcut keys on the game screen and a feature that allows players to check the location of spontaneous missions at any time. A 'World Exploration' system has also been added to track content progress and completion status for each region.

Meanwhile, Webzen has prepared various new reward events linked to gameplay alongside this update. Five new events have been added, offering diverse rewards based on adventurer level growth and story progression.
