Bungie has announced a 'Server Slam' public test for their upcoming extraction shooter, Marathon, ahead of its official launch. The Server Slam will run from 3:00 AM on February 27 to 3:00 AM on March 3, with the official launch scheduled for March 6.

The Marathon Server Slam will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. As part of the event, a PlayStation Plus subscription is not required. Participants will experience early gameplay, including select maps, runner bodies, and contract content.

Bungie plans to release the remaining maps, factions, and gear sequentially following the official launch and throughout Season 1. Players who participate in or watch the Server Slam will receive rewards, including launch-commemorative gear packages and cosmetic Twitch Drops. Marathon is an extraction shooter where players become biomechanical runners exploring the lost colonies of Tau Ceti IV. Players must survive against hostile security forces, rival runners, and an unpredictable environment. The game officially launches on March 6 and will be available in Standard and Deluxe editions on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Cross-play and cross-save are supported across all platforms.

An internet connection is required for the official launch version, and console players will need their respective paid subscription services. Additionally, to use cross-save, players must have an internet connection and a system network account linked to their Bungie.net account.
