Digital Extremes' sci-fi action game Warframe has officially launched on the Nintendo Switch 2 as a free-to-play title. This launch coincides with the game's major update, 'The Shadow Painter', and is available across all platforms. Warframe celebrates its 13th anniversary with over 85 million players worldwide.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version features enhanced FPS, resolution, loading speeds, texture and shader quality, and support for Joy-Con 2 mouse controls. Players can enjoy cross-platform save and cross-platform play with users on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, iOS, Android, and the original Nintendo Switch. Those who log in on the Nintendo Switch 2 by April 15 will receive the 'Ambimanus Pack' for free, which includes a Warfan weapon, cosmetic items, and boosters.

The 'The Shadow Painter' update introduces a new Warframe, 'Poli', whose abilities are inspired by Rorschach inkblots. Additionally, a new four-player co-op mode, 'Poli’s Hunt', has been added. Inspired by the survival horror genre, the mode features four players exploring a map while being tracked and attacked by Poli, with enemy behavior shifting based on player actions.
