A new VR title based on the heist action franchise 'PAYDAY', titled 'PAYDAY: Aces High', has been officially announced.

PAYDAY: Aces High is being developed by Starbreeze Studios in collaboration with Fast Travel Games. The game is scheduled to launch on Steam VR and Meta Quest in Q3 2026. It features a four-player co-op shooter format where players team up to carry out armed heists.

The game follows the revenge story of 'The Ace', an elite criminal syndicate framed and imprisoned by the wealthy mogul Warren Jupiter. Players must infiltrate high-security locations, ranging from banks and museums to luxury penthouses, to strike back at the mogul. During operations, players can utilize a variety of firearms, such as assault rifles and shotguns, as well as special equipment like grappling hooks and automated turrets.

Players can choose from four specialized operatives inspired by playing cards to carry out missions. 'Heart' acts as the mastermind controlling overall tactics and planning, while 'Club' excels in stealthy infiltration techniques. 'Diamond' is a tech expert specializing in dismantling security systems, and 'Spade' is a combat specialist focused on direct confrontation with heavy firepower.

Funds and reputation earned from successful missions are used to strengthen characters. Players can unlock new gear and abilities, and customize their loadouts with weapons and special skills to suit their combat style and mission requirements.

The developer, Fast Travel Games, is a studio specializing in VR game development and publishing. They have previously released titles such as 'Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice' and 'Wraith: The Oblivion - Afterlife' set in the World of Darkness universe, as well as 'Cities: VR'.
