PAN STUDIO rolled out the 1.3 version update for 'Duet Night Abyss' on the 7th. This substantial patch brings a new region, 'Hogyeong', introduces fresh characters 'So-eul' and 'Camilla', and expands the main narrative.

The new chapter, titled 'Promise of the Blue Sky', along with the main story 'Asking the Blue Sky', concludes the Hwaseo arc. Players will navigate the capital city of 'Hogyeong', unravel the mystery of the Bonghyang Grand Tournament, clash with the White Dragon God Taeho and the Black Dragon Chokryong, and discover the hidden motives of the factions.

The new region, 'Hogyeong', is a massive urban field featuring east and west districts along with an inner citadel, offering a distinct change of pace from the previous nature-centric maps. With new hubs like Jiplyulgak, Taeheoreung, Choran Village, and Sanoesan, there is plenty of room to explore. Visual fidelity has also been bumped up with improved volumetric clouds and refined weather and time-of-day systems.

Two new characters join the roster. 'So-eul' is a master of high-speed aerial mobility and mechanical warfare. When using her ultimate, she enters the 'Star Annihilation Mode', unleashing area-of-effect damage with a giant sword and artillery. Equip the 'Master of Wind No. 3 Tracking Mode' for homing projectile strikes. Meanwhile, 'Camilla' employs a projectile-heavy playstyle. Her ultimate summons an 'Opener' for persistent damage, and she can chain skills for speed buffs and knockback effects to control the battlefield.

The arsenal expands with new weapons like the shotgun 'Traces of Loneliness', the assault rifle 'Embers of the Wine Cup', the greatsword 'Distant Echo', and the shotgun 'Severing Sawblade'. Some of these can be earned through specific content rewards or exchange shops, and the acquisition paths for gear have been overhauled to give you more agency over your growth.

To celebrate, a series of events kicks off starting the 7th. Log in for seven days in the 'Refined Machine' event to snag 10 Lustrous Hourglasses, and tackle the 'About the Fragrance of Hwaseo 2' adventure content to farm growth materials. Look out for upcoming events like 'Frozen Time', 'Harvest Day', and the 'Bonghyang Hero Tournament'. The latter introduces a fresh mode where you must navigate, fight, and escape within a time limit to earn points, which can be traded for exclusive decorations, profile icons, and emotes.

A half-anniversary celebration is also on the horizon. From April 28 to May 2, players can log in to receive 10 Lustrous Hourglasses, 10 Pure White Hourglasses, display emotes, commemorative profile items, and upgrade materials. Don't forget to keep an eye out for redeem codes for extra goodies.

A slew of cosmetic content has arrived, including 'So-eul's' limited 'Blue Wings' costume, the 'Rock 'n' Roll Spirit' theme, and the new 'Sword Roaming the Taeheo' mount. Some costumes now feature upgradeable visual effects. On the system side, the new 'Source Breakthrough' feature gives older characters a new lease on life, while a split-resource download function should help ease the initial storage burden. Quality-of-life improvements include big data recommendations for Devil's Wedges, 2FA, camera distance adjustments, and social/chat refinements. Plus, a collaboration with 'BOOMCOMIC' is live as of April 7.
