Netmarble has announced that 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin', the open-world action RPG developed by Netmarble F&C, has surged back into the upper echelons of Steam’s global bestsellers following its latest major content update.

This update, which went live on the 23rd, introduces the new hero 'Escanor' and expands the narrative with the arrival of Main Story Act 13.

As of 9:00 AM on the 24th, the game hit a peak of 5th place on the Steam Global Bestsellers chart. It performed particularly well in Europe, topping the charts in France, Italy, and Belgium, while securing 2nd in Japan and 3rd in Germany. The title also saw strong engagement elsewhere, landing 3rd in Brazil, 4th in South Korea, 6th in the UK, and 9th in the US.

The new hero, Escanor, is a core character from the original 'The Seven Deadly Sins' and is considered one of the strongest in the lore. Wielding the 'Sunshine' magic, he possesses a dual personality—boisterous and arrogant by day, but humble once the sun sets.

In-game, Escanor utilizes axes, greatswords, and sword-and-shield combos to dish out heavy damage and burn effects. Along with his debut, players can obtain his exclusive gear and his signature sacred treasure, 'Divine Axe Rhitta'.

Main Story Act 13, titled 'The Sun Rises Again', follows Meliodas and Hawk as they realize they have reached the future via Tristan and encounter the Ten Commandments member, Galand, while searching for allies.

The update also introduces a new area south of the Vanya plains, the 'Beautiful Boar Hat' tavern, expanding open-world exploration with fresh gathering spots and local resources. A new boss, Galand, has also been added. Galand features a combat mechanic where certain actions while in a 'taboo' state result in petrification. Clearing the Hell difficulty rewards players with materials for legendary weapon crafting.

Players who log in will receive a generous haul: one SSR hero selection ticket, 3,600 Star Fragments, 20 Platinum Ingots, two Large Cube Key Bundles, six SR weapon selection boxes, 300,000 Gold, 30 Superior Enhancement Stones, and 15 SR Magic Crystal Shards.
