Major9, the studio behind the subculture RPG Outerplane, has released an update adding a new companion and an event dungeon. Beyond the current patch, Major9 also shared their roadmap, including participation in the Tokyo Game Show in September, a forthcoming Steam release, and a campaign to celebrate the first anniversary of the service transfer.

The highlight of this update is the arrival of 'Demiurge Seiran'. This dark-attribute speedster sports a 'fallen saint' aesthetic, swapping between the forms of a holy saint and a demon lord during battle. Once Seiran hits specific health thresholds, the character awakens as a demon lord, unleashing a screen-wide assault that inflicts the 'Retribution' debuff while simultaneously buffing allies.

Alongside the new recruit, the event dungeon 'Daydream of Fallen Petals' is now live. Players will join Seiran, an apostle of Sacred, on a unique expedition to uncover the hidden stories behind this character’s transformation. Clearing this limited-time dungeon allows you to earn exclusive currency, which can be exchanged for growth materials and various items. Plus, through attendance checks, daily missions, and the Lucky Capsule, you can earn rewards including 'Demiurge’s Call'.

A spokesperson for Major9 stated, "With this update, we aimed to offer a refreshing combat experience through the new Demiurge companion, Seiran. We hope you enjoy the richer gameplay provided by the new dungeon and rewards. We have a steady stream of content planned, including our first-anniversary campaign and the move to Steam, so please stay tuned."

Looking ahead, Major9 plans to kick off various campaigns in October to mark one year since the service transfer. To expand the game's reach, a Steam release is currently in the works for PC enthusiasts. Furthermore, Outerplane is set to make an appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2026, running from September 17 to 21, in a bid to strengthen ties with the global player base.
