After entering early access in December 2024 and suffering a handful of delays, Path of Exile 2 has finally locked down its official launch schedule. It will transition to a full release on December 12, welcoming a brand-new sword-wielding class to the roster.

Grinding Gear Games dropped a fresh trailer for Path of Exile 2 at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 26. According to the announcement, the game makes its official debut on December 12, shifting to a free-to-play live service model with optional monetization where the base game won't cost you a penny.

Right alongside the official launch comes the brand-new Duellist class. Relying primarily on swords, this character catches the eye with wide, sweeping strikes and elemental attacks that really pop. You can inspect the Duellist in action by checking out the newly released trailer below.

That is not all, as version 1.0 also introduces Acts 5 and 6, wrapping up the final chapters of the campaign to complete the overarching storyline. A bunch of system upgrades roll out too, including additional multi-language localization and a handy quality-of-life feature that lets you hot-swap between keyboard and controller instantly.

Pre-registrations for the official launch are currently live over on the official Path of Exile 2 website. Depending on the cumulative participation milestones, players will pocket goodies like the Ghostflame Helmet Attachment, Ghostflame Weapon Effect, Ghostflame Portal, Chained Chimera Wings, and Scourgeborn Boar Pet.
