Look, let us be honest, when BioWare veterans—the folks behind Mass Effect—get together to cook up a brand-new sci-fi action RPG, we tend to sit up and take notice. That game is Exodus, and it is launching on April 8th next year.

Archetype Entertainment dropped the release date news on August 26 at Gamescom Opening Night Live. If you want to check out the footage, you can view it below, where you will see 'Solt', an intelligent, octopus-like companion piloting a special mech into battle. We also get a glimpse of 'Emris', a companion from the Devor race who can absorb enemy energy and flip it into a protective shield.

Exodus drops you 40,000 years into the future, following the journey of the protagonist, Jun, who sets out to explore forgotten world ruins in order to save humanity from the Celestials, the ultimate apex predators of the universe. Along the way, Jun will recruit a rather eclectic crew of soldiers, smugglers, mercenaries, scholars, and even awakened animals, all while squaring off against foes using customizable, upgraded weaponry.

The real kicker here is the time travel mechanic. Bouncing across spacetime causes severe time dilation, meaning every cheeky choice made by the player ripples across multiple generations. We are talking consequences that stretch far beyond your immediate companions and missions, altering the very fate of entire worlds, so you better choose wisely, mate.

Exodus is slated for release on April 8, 2027 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, complete with Korean subtitles.
