Snagging trait and basic skill points from the Archive

The archiving workload in Casterly Rock is mercifully brief. By restoring lost letters, the player can secure two offensive trait points, while gathering ancient tomes yields three basic skill points and some extra white embers.

Treasure chests finally get a proper glow-up

Previously, players could largely ignore the random treasure chests dotted across the continent because the main reward, dragon gold, had a frustratingly limited use case. However, following the August 19 update, the utility of dragon gold has expanded dramatically, instantly driving up the value of those dusty old chests.

Casterly Rock hides a grand total of 69 treasure chests. Ordinary treasure chests make up the bulk at 49, followed by 14 luxury treasure chests and 6 opulent treasure chests. Most of them are simple grab-and-gos once the player knows where to look, and yes, they are all marked on the aforementioned Westeros map database.

Naturally, there is always a catch. Tucked away between the Lanisport East Outskirts signpost and the Seventh Hollow signpost lies a chest that refuses to give up its secrets easily. Reaching it requires a cheeky little parkour routine: sprinting from the rock behind the abandoned house and leaping onto the roof, which will likely take a few cheeky attempts. Once up there, resist the urge to climb too high, and instead sidestep carefully across the edge. Go too high, and the character will slide right off.

학사 기록소에서 특성 포인트, 기본 스킬 포인트 획득

캐스털리록의 학사 기록소의 분량은 크지 않다. 먼저 ‘잃어버린서신’ 복원으로 공격 특성 포인트를 2개, 그리고 ‘고대 서적’을 수집해 기본 스킬 포인트 3개와 하얀 불씨를 수급할 수 있다.

캐스털리록 지역의 수집 물품은 국민트리에서 제작한 웨스테로스 지도 DB에서 쉽게 확인 가능하다. 이 중 학사 기록소와 관련된 수집 물품은 잃어버린 서신, 고대 서적을 비롯해 금 원석, 은 원석, 철 원석, 갈탄 원석이다. 지도에서 해당 항목만 체크해서 위치를 확인하고 수집하자.

가치가 높아진 보물상자

기존에 대륙 곳곳에 배치된 보물상자를 모두 수집할 필요가 없었다. 주요 보상인 ‘드래곤 금화’의 사용처가 한정적이었던 탓이다. 하지만, 8월 19일 업데이트로 드래곤 금화의 사용처가 대폭 늘어나면서 보물상자의 가치도 덩달아 높아졌다.

캐스털리록에 배치된 보물상자는 총 69종이다. ‘평범한 보물상자’가 49개로 가장 많고, ‘고급스러운 보물상자’ 14개, ‘호화스러운 보물상자’는 6개다. 대부분은 위치만 알면 쉽게 열 수 있으며, 앞서 말한 웨스테로스 지도 DB에서 찾을 수 있다.

물론, 예외도 있다. ‘라니스포트 동부 외곽’ 이정표와 ‘세븐스할로우’ 이정표 사이에 보물상자가 하나 있는데, 이는 쉽게 접근할 수 없다. 폐가 뒤 바위에서 지붕 위로 뛰어 올라가야 하는데, 몇 번의 시도가 필요하다. 또한, 지붕 위에서도 높이 올라가지 말고, 옆으로 조심스럽게 걸어가야 한다. 자칫 지붕 위로 높이 올라갔다가는 미끄러지니 조심하자.
