Gravity has officially launched its new racing game, Hebereke's Rampage: EX, globally on August 3. Available on Steam and Nintendo Switch, it is priced at 29,000 KRW.

Hebereke's Rampage: EX is a modern reimagining of Sunsoft's classic Hebereke. You can choose from a delightfully quirky roster of characters, including the protagonist Hebe, O-Chan, Jennifer, and Sukezabon. The core loop involves racing across diverse courses packed with items and obstacles, with the freedom to pick your preferred track and difficulty level.

This remake introduces six brand-new modes alongside the original mode, promising a varied dose of chaos. In Story mode, each character gets their own narrative arc as you aim to clear a total of 10 stages. Time Attack is a solo affair where you race against ghost data of your past runs to shatter personal bests. Then there is Engacho, a frantic game of tag where the hunter must chase down other players.

For up to four players, Battle Run offers split-screen mayhem in two or four partitions. Popun Battle requires you to chuck Popuns at rivals; hit an opponent three times to claim a round, and secure two rounds to take the crown. Meanwhile, the Rhythm Game mode asks you to time your inputs to falling Popuns, chaining combos to trigger Fever mode.

Crucially, this marks the series' first-ever foray into online multiplayer, supporting up to 8 players simultaneously, while local play caps out at 4. The package supports nine languages, including Korean, Japanese, English, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese, complete with scoreboards to track global rankings and personal bests.

Jin-on Park, a business team leader at Gravity, explains that Hebereke's Rampage: EX delivers a distinct kind of fun that goes beyond your average racer, thanks to the characters' comical reactions and bare-knuckle, shoving-and-pushing racing action.
