UserJoy has officially launched the fantasy strategy RPG The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake via Steam on the 10th.

The game is a modern reimagining of the classic 1998 SRPG The Legend of Fancy Realm, rebuilt with contemporary graphics and systems. While inheriting the original's vast fantasy universe, strategic combat, and quirky characters and narrative, the developer has refined character-specific backstories and various content to be much deeper.

The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake completely revamps the graphics and presentation while maintaining the identity of the original. Character illustrations, battlefield backgrounds, combat UI, and direction have been freshly designed, and character dialogues and story sequences have been enhanced to heighten immersion. The combat system carries on the strategic depth of a classic tactical SRPG, utilizing character stats, skill combinations, positioning, troop organization, and job-specific traits. Alongside this, the game retains classic elements from the original such as character job changes, hidden treasures, special merchants, sub-quests, and kill streaks.

The game is set on the Panosong continent, known as the 'continent blessed by gods,' capturing a gripping power struggle among seven major factions with different races and cultures: the Hasparta Republic, the Ramis Empire, Naknano, Piwe, Pakramo, Samik Island, and Arapis. Players follow the protagonist Leonard and companions as they get swept up in the wars and conspiracies of these factions, experiencing a tale revolving around the fate of the Panosong continent. The official version also includes the classic version of the 1998 original The Legend of Fancy Realm, allowing players to launch it directly within the game and relive the graphics and emotional resonance of that era.

A variety of content has also been added for fans of the original. Hidden treasures, special merchants, and sub-quests are scattered across the continent, offering diverse ways to enjoy the game such as multi-endings inheriting the original story, a mini card game called 'Bong-yeok-gyeong-guk', and special costumes. Following the launch, the developer plans to provide additional DLC containing new story content that was not covered in the original as a free update. Furthermore, Steam Workshop functionality for user-generated content is currently in development, and the developer plans to sequentially host user-created events utilizing stage ideas and battlefield designs in the future.

An official from UserJoy stated, 'We hope you will enjoy the unique fun of The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake, which inherits the world and strategic appeal of the original while reconstructing it for modern audiences.' The Legend of Fancy Realm Remake supports a total of five languages—Korean, English, Japanese, and Traditional and Simplified Chinese—and is playable on Steam. To celebrate the launch, a 10% discount is available for the first two weeks.
