The definitive edition of the Sengoku Jidai-set strategy game Total War: Shogun 2, titled Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition, is officially launching on October 14.

Total War: Shogun 2 is widely celebrated as a masterpiece in the series, cleverly combining deep turn-based strategic elements with grand real-time battles. You are tasked with guiding a divided Japan to unification through diplomacy, espionage, and brute force across an era stretching from the dawn of the samurai to the threshold of modern warfare.

The Complete Edition bundles the base game alongside both expansions: the Heian period-focused Rise of the Samurai and the Boshin War-themed Fall of the Samurai. Furthermore, it features various faction packs, content updates, and a slew of enhancements tailored for modern hardware. Visuals, lighting, and shadow quality have all been upgraded, and with UI scaling for 1440p and 4K resolutions, playing comfortably in high-definition environments is now a breeze.

On top of all that, the developers have thrown in modernized control schemes, over 50 new playable factions, Mod.io integration for seamless modding, 64-bit architecture support, ultrawide monitor support, and accessibility options for colour blindness. Full Japanese and Chinese voice acting are supported, and Korean subtitles—which were officially missing back in the day—are finally included right out of the box.

Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition drops on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store on October 14.
