The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (hereinafter referred to as Korea Creative Content Agency) operated the Korea Pavilion at Tokyo Game Show 2026 (Tokyo Game Show, hereinafter TGS) from September 17 to 20.

Tokyo Game Show is Japan's premier global gaming exhibition, drawing game developers, publishers, platform enterprises, and players from across the globe. Celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the four-day event ran from the 17th to the 20th, featuring 1,138 participating companies worldwide.

This year's Korea Pavilion B2B and B2C programmes featured 15 small and medium-sized game developers, including Newcore, Nanu Company, Dreamcraft, Roomton, Mayfly, Banjiha Games, Sunsian, Ahrum Games, Endev Games, Two Hands Interactive, Team Tapas, Team Horay, Pepperstones, Pixelian, and Hypercent.

Participating companies showcased their titles to local visitors and industry figures during the event, carrying out business activities aimed at global expansion. Notable results included increased Steam wishlist additions and a rise in mobile downloads.

Ahead of the Tokyo Game Show opening, the Korea Creative Content Agency conducted an overseas Focus Group Test (hereinafter FGT) in Tokyo, Japan, from September 15 to 16. Covering 16 domestic game companies, a total of 967 evaluations were carried out, with local Japanese gamers playing each title and leaving feedback on control convenience, text localization, and content immersion.

This Japanese test marks the second offline on-site test of the year, following Gamescom in Germany last August. The Korea Creative Content Agency plans to wrap up localization checks by holding one more online test within the year.

Kim Sung-joon, head of the Game New Technology Division at the Korea Creative Content Agency, stated, "Through this Tokyo Game Show, we have once again confirmed the outstanding competitiveness of K-games and their high growth potential in the global market. We find it deeply meaningful that the passionate dedication of the participating companies blossomed into tangible results. We will spare no multifaceted support so that promising domestic game developers can successfully establish themselves in overseas markets and generate real outcomes."

Meanwhile, the Korea Creative Content Agency will also operate Korea Pavilions at the Brasil Game Show (BGS) and Gamescom asia in Thailand this October.
