Pokémon Korea and The Pokémon Company are joining forces to launch a brand-new team tournament designed for trainers to trade blows and test their mettle, and they have decided to kick off the inaugural event right in South Korea. The tournament, aptly titled Pokémon Team Masters 2027 in SEOUL, is scheduled to run for two days from January 23 to January 24, 2027, at Halls 1 and 2 of Exhibition Center 1 in KINTEX.

The competition will focus on the trading card game division, where courageous trainers must form trios of three to battle it out for supremacy. There are no age restrictions, meaning anyone with a deck and a dream can jump into the fray. Even better, the top four teams will secure an automatic invitation to compete in the trading card game division at the 2027 Pokémon World Championships.

Registration is entirely free and is currently open via the official Pokémon Team Masters Web until October 23 at 12:00 PM. Aspiring contenders need to rally three friends into a squad, ensure every single member has registered an account on the website, and let the designated team leader handle the final application process.

The tournament will follow the standard regulation format, utilizing 60-card decks and six prize cards. Competitors can bring cards printed in Korean, English, Indonesian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Thai.
