Chaos Zero Nightmare (hereafter referred to as CZN) rolled out a prologue story and a raft of quality-of-life updates on the 30th, just ahead of the grand opening for the brand new season of its seasonal content, Galactic Disaster.

In the prologue story, the Captain (the protagonist) and companions answer the Empire's summon to investigate the Chaos, rubbing shoulders with various allied factions and an individual who boldly proclaims to be an apostle of the goddess. The main story for the 5th new season, 'Promise Frozen in Snow', is scheduled to kick off on October 21, and the preview period brings in the new 4-star combatant 'Anika'. On top of that, players are being handed another shot at recruiting 'Sereniel' and her partner 'Peko', who first landed as seasonal combatants back in December.

System tweaks and shiny new features have also landed to make life easier for players. The growth guide, designed to fast-track newbies into the thick of things, now packs fresh missions and rewards, while the introduction of the new Ether Cell system ensures a smoother flow of materials needed for character progression. The user interface (UI) for All-Out War, a core combat mode, has been given a thorough overhaul alongside new achievements and rewards. During Chaos exploration, the save data UI has also been polished so players can intuitively check at a glance whether the desired effects are locked in.

Naturally, a fresh batch of events is running to celebrate the update. The countdown has officially begun for the 'Nightmare Festival', set to mark CZN's 1st anniversary, with attendance check events handing out plenty of goodies. Plus, a pair of events starring Sereniel asks players to knock out given missions in exchange for crystals and various progression materials.
