XLGAMES is bringing open-world action MMORPG ArcheAge Chronicles to the upcoming Steam Next Fest, running from October 19 to 26.

The playable demo for ArcheAge Chronicles will be available via Steam starting at 10:00 AM Pacific Time on October 19 through to 10:00 AM on October 26. Anyone with a Steam account can download and dive straight into the demo without any tedious sign-ups, beta keys, or waiting lists. Set in 'Shining Coast', one of the early regions of the Original Continent, the demo is designed to let players sample both the combat and the story of ArcheAge Chronicles firsthand.

Players will get to test out four distinct classes: Melee, which leads the frontline with heavy strikes and sheer pressure; Archery, characterised by high mobility and precise ranged attacks; Ironwall, an aggressive role that trades high risk for devastating offensive power; and Sorcery, which unleashes element-based attacks alongside crowd-control utilities. Notably, this playtest will mark the very first public showcase of PvP combat in ArcheAge Chronicles, giving players a direct taste of skill-based action battles.

On top of that, the focus remains squarely on combat, class individuality, and narrative immersion. Life-skill content such as housing and trading won't be making an appearance in the demo, as those deeper economic and social systems are being saved for the upcoming Early Access release.

Executive producer Ham Yong-jin stated, "The goal was to craft a game that values exploration and cooperation over mere competition," adding that the team worked hard to build "combat that is easy to pick up yet satisfyingly punchy, alongside an open world that compels players to explore wherever curiosity leads."
