Two titans of marine adventure gaming have finally decided to hold hands, because why not.

Look, let us be honest: Mintrocket dropped a bombshell on August 9 during the Triple-i Initiative by revealing the Dave the Diver Subnautica 2 content pack. Slated as the final DLC to launch in early 2027, the main stage of the Blue Hole will find itself blending with the alien oceanic ecosystem of Subnautica 2.

In this fresh slice of downloadable content, players will team up with Dave and Bancho to dimension-hop and explore the strange oceanic moon known as Proteus. You can harvest never-before-seen marine life, unlock novel recipes, and yes, even face off against the signature gargantuan leviathan creatures straight out of Subnautica 2.

Mintrocket CEO Hwang Jae-ho stated in what the publisher calls a grand vision, "Since this is being prepared as Dave's final DLC, we wanted it to hold a special meaning, and we prepared this collaboration with Subnautica 2 which many users have been requesting." Hwang Jae-ho added, "Both games feature the sea as a backdrop but take completely different approaches, so we expect it to make a new wave in Dave, and we hope to deliver a fresh and surprising adventure to our users."

The upcoming DLC is scheduled to land on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, though specific release dates and detailed content configurations remain under wraps for now. Best of luck waiting until 2027, mate.
