British developer Bulkhead is launching the second season of its shooter WARDOGS on October 15.

Bulkhead dropped a briefing on the upcoming season 2 update today, addressing some of the glaring faction imbalances that the community has been screaming about. First off, spawn locations on the Bakurani map are getting a complete reshuffle, and the saturation on the Lonestar faction's outfits is being dialed down after players complained about friendly fire confusion. Plus, as a cheeky incentive for season 2, the Lonestar (Blue) faction will enjoy boosted in-game currency, XP bonuses, and multiplier perks.

Four brand-new firearms are also dropping into the theater of war. Players can get their hands on the TCX-Spear assault rifle, the M14 designated marksman rifle, the PP-19 Bizon submachine gun, and the Evo-3 Ultra light machine gun, alongside an expanded suite of weapon attachments. As for throwables, Molotov cocktails are making an entrance, spreading flames upon impact to deal damage and zone enemies out of specific areas. You will be able to choose between overarm and underarm throwing styles, too.

Vehicles and base defense installations are getting some love as well. The fast wheeled transport Wolf-110 and its combat variant, the Wolf-110 Assault equipped with a ring-mounted M2 Browning, are rolling onto the battlefield. Joining them is the T-72 main battle tank—sacrificing some of the Leopard's mobility for a cheaper price tag and superior fuel efficiency—alongside the Flakpanzer Gepard anti-air vehicle. On top of that, three new buildables are being introduced: the manually operated MG Nest, a large bunker for defending capture points and staying out of the rain, and wooden scaffolding.

A new rain weather preset is rolling into the environmental mix. The downpour messes with visibility, engagement ranges, and audio cues, interacting dynamically with terrain and wrecked structures. Lightning strikes sync up globally across all servers, masking footsteps and introducing nasty tactical curveballs right in the thick of combat.

A gambling merchant system is also being trialled. Players can set targets like racking up kills in high-risk zones or extracting squadmates, staking their own money and setting a death limit to chase high-stakes payouts. A tracker at the top of the minimap shows your progress in real-time, though Bulkhead warns that any cheeky exploits will see the feature yanked out mid-season.

Combat and gear balances are also getting a thorough overhaul. Infrared rangefinders now run on a battery system. Super heavy helmets now muffle hearing, restrict your field of view, and fog up when you sprint like mad. Heavy and super heavy helmets get a buff to suppression resistance, beefing up their protective utility beyond just raw damage reduction. On top of all that, weapon damage, recoil, and suppression values are being tweaked, alongside squad synergy, vehicle handling, controller responsiveness, and teamwork and supply rewards.
