An unofficial mod allowing players to experience Cyberpunk 2077 together has just announced its upcoming testing phase, mate.

Russian modding channel MDRevoice has dropped an introductory video for Cyberpunk 2077 Coop MOD, announcing that a public test on PC kicks off on August 19 local time. The co-op mod will be available for download from the official MDRevoice website starting at 4:00 AM on August 20 in South Korea time.

As you probably remember, Cyberpunk 2077 has strictly been a solo affair ever since the multi-player features planned during development were scrapped. This ambitious project is entirely fan-made, with MDRevoice noting clearly that the creation is an unofficial fan project without any backing or approval from CD Projekt Red.

The mod launches straight from the main menu, letting participants pick a character, host a world to invite friends, or join an existing session to explore Night City together. The player count maxes out at two, accommodating a host and an invited user.

The co-op experience supports vehicles, NPCs, combat, dialogue, cutscenes, and shop interactions. It includes a revival mechanic for downed comrades during skirmishes, plus the ability to trade currency between players. While progress is shared, inventories, character appearances, and progression remain separate for each individual.
