Pearl Abyss dropped a preview video on August 21 for 'Journey to the Unknown', the very first DLC for its ongoing title 'Crimson Desert Enhanced'. This footage gives us a proper look at what to expect when the expansion launches simultaneously across the globe on August 30. Expect fresh narrative arcs, open ocean sailing, deep-sea diving, social relationship building, business management systems, and a vastly expanded housing suite.

In 'Journey to the Unknown', the narrative picks up with Kliff, Demian, and Oongka as they forge new paths after fiercely protecting Pywel from various threats. As the trio splits up to find their own ways, they will cross paths with intriguing new personalities. Furthermore, the sprawling oceans of Pywel step up as a primary playground. Players can gather resources to construct their very own vessels, customize them to suit personal tastes, and set sail. Cut across the waves to discover hidden islands, clear out hostile factions occupying those territories, and establish outposts alongside the Greymane companions to earn valuable rewards through daring new challenges.

Deep-sea exploration elements are also thrown into the mix to uncover secrets lingering beneath the surface. Grab a crafted diving suit, plunge into the briny deep, and hunt down sunken ruins, forgotten treasures, and rare resources. New underwater vehicles are also inbound to make sub-aquatic poking around that much more engaging. Meanwhile, forging deeper bonds with various individuals makes life in Pywel considerably richer. Kliff, Oongka, and Demian can build profound trust with specific characters, eventually sparking romance or even tying the knot. These close confidants will drop by the Greymane camp to hang out, injecting some much-needed life into the base.
