Gorilla Studio, a developer specialising in roguelike games, announced on August 23 that its new roguelike flight shooting game, TangTang Ace, has officially launched on Google Play and the Apple App Store.

TangTang Ace serves as the official sequel to the global hit Survivor.io, marking the latest creation from Gorilla Studio, the developer behind Archero, Archero 2, and Capybara Go!. TangTang Ace delivers a fresh brand of aerial combat by blending the classic bullet-hell dodging and boss battles of traditional flight shooters with the randomized skill selection and build crafting inherent to the roguelike genre.

The setting unfolds in a world where a zombie virus has spread from the ground up into the skies. This catastrophe has severed connections between cities and survivor outposts, while machines and living creatures in the air have also fallen victim to the infection, mutating into swarms of mechanical zombies. To rescue humanity, 11 adorable animal pilots—including cats, dogs, foxes, and bears—hop into fighter jets to execute the 'Sky Rescue Operation'.

Designed around a vertical screen format, the game captures the tactile pleasure of one-handed controls and bullet dodging while keeping things effortlessly accessible. Lifting your finger from the screen during combat slows down the pace, allowing you to carefully thread the needle through dense barrage patterns, while an auto-targeting feature enhances attack convenience. Players can dodge bullets, pick skills tailored to the situation, and enjoy a surprising layer of tactical depth amidst the straightforward controls.

A single playthrough lasts a brief five to ten minutes. The title features a progression system where leveling up during battle prompts three random choices, with core enhancements kicking in every three skill levels. Alongside 11 animal pilots and 9 types of fighter jets, a wide array of growth vectors is provided—including equipment, weapons, traits, research, chips, and support drones—empowering players to mix, match, and nurture combinations tailored entirely to individual playstyles.

To celebrate the official launch, a variety of perks and content updates have been prepared. For the first seven days following release, players can receive free in-game items and currencies valued at over 300,000 won. During the 'Base Departure' event running for 28 days starting on August 26, the third day after launch, participants can secure multiple rewards such as the fighter jet 'Phantom' and the pilot 'Flame Tail'. Furthermore, the 'Starry Sea Fishing Season' event spanning 10 days from August 31, the eighth day after release, offers encounters with the fighter jet 'Dark Blade' and the pilot 'Snow Dream'. Alongside these, a permanent dungeon titled 'Meteor Bombardment' is locked and loaded. This content unlocks upon clearing main stage 12-10, letting players smash meteors to haul in massive piles of gold.
