Look, let's be honest, space exploration game No Man's Sky has just rolled out its Halloween-themed update, bringing spooky new content and fresh missions for you to collect eerie items.

Hello Games launched version 7.10, titled FORSAKEN, as a free update for No Man's Sky on October 29. On the same day, a mobile version for iOS packing all previous 40-odd updates alongside this fresh content also dropped onto the App Store, where you can try the opening hours for free on iPhone 11 and iPad Air (3rd generation) or newer devices.

This update introduces novel ways to travel and new missions to the cosmic expanse. You can now use seamless warp to target and jump directly to nearby stars in space without opening the galaxy map. Plus, at deep-space outposts, players equipped with a corvette and a Gravitino Coil can take on delivery contracts.

Quality-of-life tweaks are here too. A radial menu has been added for quick switching between multi-tool weapons and utilities, alongside a minimalist HUD mode that tucks away the compass, hazard protection gauge, and quest alerts while hiding non-essential markers.

On the content front, fitting right into the Halloween vibe, you can scavenge rare and bizarre biological specimens and memorabilia from infested outposts, deep-space hull wreckage, derelict freighters, and paleontological dig sites. Just keep in mind that lingering too long will summon hostile Sentient Horrors, so watch your step.

You can trade these harvested goods with the Forsaken Trader who spawns on the outskirts of deep-space outposts, swapping them for bio-mechanical corvette modules. Mix and match cockpit sections, habitation modules, and hull structures to build organic-looking starships, including the insectoid Hornet-class and serpent-like Viper-class cockpits.

Beyond starships, there are gear and cosmetic rewards waiting for you. A Lava Tank helmet appearance that replaces the skull with a larval tank has been added. Collecting enough of these creepy souvenirs unlocks the Mind Harvester title and an exoskeleton suit appearance. Hand over a set amount of preserved larvae to the trader, and you will even secure the Larva Cannon multi-tool.
