Netmarble has been busy putting its upcoming action RPG, Monster Guild: STAR DIVE, through the wringer with user tests held in May and June. It seems the character roster, including Francis and Ophelia, has left quite a mark on those who got to take it for a spin.

Monster Guild: STAR DIVE acts as the successor to the 2013 mobile hit, Monster Taming. This time, the developer Netmarble Monster is aiming for a multi-platform release across PC and mobile. While it keeps the original world intact, it boasts some modern flair: ▲ Unreal Engine 5 visuals, a real-time, three-character tag-team combat system, and a 'Monsterling Collecting' mechanic that lets you hunt, hoard, and fuse creatures.

The developer conducted a domestic closed beta in May, followed by a global session in North America and Japan in June. What really grabbed players' attention was the cast. Utilizing Unreal Engine 5, the team has focused on bringing iconic favorites like Verna, Mina, and Esde to life with a fresh coat of paint.

Francis, the genius medic, certainly made an impression during the tests, catching the eye of global players. Ophelia, the purple-eyed adventurer, also emerged as a standout figure.

Ophelia is an original addition to Monster Guild: STAR DIVE, not seen in the original game. Information was scarce at first, but Netmarble recently pulled back the curtain with 'Rena's Interview File - Ophelia Edition' to give us a better look.

Rena's Interview File dives deep into character profiles, covering everything from personality quirks to lore not found in the main game. Netmarble is keeping the momentum going post-test with other bits of content like the 'Bite-sized Encyclopedia' and the 'Monster Guild Times', which frames the narrative as a newspaper column.

To keep the global community in the loop, Netmarble is translating these updates into English and Japanese for X (formerly Twitter), YouTube, and Instagram. They have also recently launched an official Discord channel to foster direct communication with players.

Monster Guild: STAR DIVE is slated for a release later this year. The game has recently popped up on the Epic Games Store, confirming a PC launch. When it finally lands, it will support 12 languages with full voiceovers in Korean, English, and Japanese.
