'Nsw2u' was an illegal site that provided users with pirated game content to play for free on modified Nintendo Switch consoles or PC emulators. This takedown was carried out under a warrant issued by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, with the Dutch Fiscal Information and Investigation Service (FIOD) providing assistance.

Nintendo has long maintained a strong stance against copyright infringement, and 'Nsw2u' had been a primary target for enforcement. In 2021, the company won a lawsuit against six major UK internet service providers, requiring them to block access to 'Nsw2u' and 'NSWROM'. Last year, Nintendo also reached a multi-million dollar settlement with the developers of the popular Switch emulator 'Yuzu'. In May of this year, 'Nsw2u' was officially added to the European Union's piracy watch list.

The closure of 'Nsw2u' signals that Nintendo is intensifying its efforts to eradicate piracy following the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. In fact, the Nintendo Switch 2, which launched in June, features a system that permanently bans any console found using pirated ROM files or unauthorized accessories from all online services.
